Barb Starner Artist...watercolor, alcohol ink, oil, and collage
About the Artist...... Written by Carol Schmidt Popular artist Barb Starner has returned to her beloved Montana, bringing with her a new intensity and power in her work. Always one of the Big Sky States most cherished watercolorists, Starner lived, taught and created in Texas for two decades before returning to her Montana home. Starner credits her students with motivating her to begin working in several new dynamic mediums, ranging from collage and alcohol ink to oils, masa paper and richly hued watercolors. Wherever she has lived,Starner has found beauty and inspiration in her surroundings. Whether her paintings are landscapes on a grand scale, or an intimate glimpse at the smallest of flowers, she conveys a deep and vibrant inspiration for the beauty of the world around us. Her works hang in collections throughout the country where they are valued as an investment in beauty and peace. Starner now lives and works in her studio in Bozeman, where she welcomes visitors and she shows her work at The Artists Gallery in The Emerson Art Center. She also spends part of the year painting in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
