I did this painting as a demonstration for the class that I teach....Some houses like this are called Sunday Houses in Texas.....kind of like a week-end place.

This painting hangs in my kitchen. I used my antique coffee pot and a creamer as an inspiration. On the lower right you see it was made into a cookbook.

This painting is done on yupo paper...very smooth....like painting on plastic. I like to paint some of my favorite things around my house as shown in the following picture.....
At this time of year, bluebonnets are on my mind. I did this painting on masa paper....a very thin paper that I crinkle up and then glue onto watercolor paper before painting.
This is how I imagine Italy. Someday I hope to see something like this..Until then I'll just keep painting pictures.
This is one of many commissions of houses that I have painted through the years. Makes a nice surprise gift.

I poured the paint on, let it dry, and then came back and painted around the tulips (negative painting)...makes the painting more spontaneous.
Two of the most beautiful things to paint in Texas....bluebonnets and live oaks....typical of the Hill Country
This painting is a study in negative painting, where I painted around the leaves getting darker each time.
